Good To Grow Garden Volunteer Day
The Hackney School of Food joins national Good to Grow Day 23-26 April to celebrate community food growing in the heart of Clapton, and is inviting visitors and volunteers, new and old, in person, to explore how to grow food in urban areas and celebrate the start of spring and the new growing season.

Our gardens will be open for two main sessions of volunteering, 10-12 & 1-3 for volunteers to put our gardens in order, ready for growing the produce to be used in our teaching kitchen.
– Sanding & painting of wooden benches
– Repotting / planting out seedlings
– Preparing growing beds / harvesting winter crops
– Tidying the composting bin area
To ensure a covid safe environment we ask that all volunteers maintain social distancing, and wear masks when inside.
Good to Grow is an online platform to support food growing in the UK, run by the food and farming charity Sustain. It was initiated by Capital Growth, London’s largest food growing network and a project of Sustain, in London in 2012. With help from the Sustainable Food Places network and the Veg Cities campaign, hundreds of gardens all over the UK are involved this year.
