What we do…

For the community

The Hackney School of Food is at the heart of the community

We offer a range of activities, including cooking classes, open garden events, after-school clubs, and much more. Our public events include seasonal activities, family sessions and collaborations with guest chefs who share our ethos of creating tasty, nutritious food, made from scratch.

Check our What’s on page for full listings.

Cultural cuisines

We embrace the diverse cultures and cuisines of London and enjoy working with chefs from local communities. Whether you’re used to cooking at home or are a professional chef and would like to bring your dishes to the wider community, we can help you to run workshops to share your knowledge and heritage in the spirit of good food and food education.

Please contact us if you wish to run a session.

Cooking and exercise classes

We work with local health partners to improve mental health and physical well-being. We have developed classes to support people with health challenges or long-term conditions, such as cooking and exercise for those over-65s and parents of young children.

Please contact us if you wish to run a session.

After-school and holiday activities

We run cookery clubs for children after school. Our sessions are with our chef educators and use our state-of-the-art facilities. All staff are DBS checked.
