More than just a venue, our award-winning teaching kitchen, beautiful productive garden and flexible indoor and outdoor spaces offer a nature-led setting to gather for memorable experiences. 

And every booking supports our not-for-profit food education work.

Our facilities

Teaching kitchen
An award-winning, fully equipped teaching kitchen for up to 20 adults or 30 children.
Outdoor spaces
Make the most of our kitchen gardens and outdoor areas alongside your indoor hire.
Garden room
A bright, flexible event space overlooking our flourishing educational garden.. With a capacity for up to 30 seated or 100 standing, the room is fully equipped with WiFi, flip charts, projector access, and dining equipment.
Flexible hire
Hire individual spaces or take over the whole site for events of up to 150 people.

Teaching kitchen

Bright, spacious and adaptable, our award-winning teaching kitchen is made for cooking and gathering. It opens onto the kitchen garden, with outdoor seating under the awning overlooking edible flowers, salad beds and our pizza oven.

Hire the teaching kitchen and kitchen garden together, or include them as part of a whole-site booking.

Garden room

Flooded with natural light and overlooking our productive educational garden, the Garden Room is a versatile, welcoming setting for meetings, workshops, dining and events. Open the doors and your gathering can flow naturally between indoors and out.

The Garden Room is hired with use of the main garden, or can be included as part of a whole-site booking.

Whole site

Make Hackney School of Food your own for the day or evening. Whole-site hire brings together our teaching kitchen, kitchen garden, Garden Room and main garden, giving you a distinctive mix of indoor and outdoor spaces for larger and bespoke events.

The whole site can accommodate up to 150 people.
