Free Community Use of our Garden Room
Hackney School of Food is offering free use of our Garden Room to Hackney-based community organisations in 2026.
We know how hard it can be for small organisations, grassroots groups and community-led projects to find affordable, welcoming spaces to meet, learn and bring people together. This offer is designed to remove some of those barriers and support the vital work happening across Hackney every day.
Who can apply?
We have up to 10 free sessions available throughout 2026, with each session suitable for groups of 20–30 people and available for up to four hours. Whether you’re hosting a workshop, running a training session, or bringing people together for meaningful conversations about local issues, our Garden Room offers a calm, friendly space to support your work. Tea and coffee will be provided to help make your session feel relaxed and welcoming.
This opportunity is open to Hackney-based community organisations, charities, grassroots groups and social enterprises who are working directly with local residents. All applicants must be based in Hackney.
What can the space be used for?
We’re prioritising sessions that support Hackney communities through:
- Upskilling people
(e.g. workshops, training sessions, skills-sharing) - Community consultation
(e.g. public participation, listening sessions, co-design, decision-making) - Health-enhancing initiatives
(e.g. nutrition, wellbeing, mental health, social connection)
If your session helps people learn, connect, feel healthier, or have a stronger voice in their community, it’s likely to be a great fit.
