Cook, eat and learn together as a family

Join our free Family Cook-a-Long programme, designed for families who want to build confidence in cooking healthy, affordable meals at home.

Across three hands-on sessions, you’ll cook alongside other local families, learn practical skills from experienced food educators, and enjoy sharing a delicious meal together in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Each session focuses on simple, nutritious recipes made with just five key ingredients, making it easy to recreate the dishes at home on a budget.

Families will also receive take-home recipe boxes after each session, helping you continue cooking together between workshops.

What you’ll learn

  • How to cook healthy and affordable family meals from scratch
  • Simple recipes using accessible ingredients
  • Tips for meal planning and budgeting
  • How to batch cook and freeze meals
  • Ways to reduce food waste and make ingredients go further
  • Ideas for getting children involved in cooking

What you’ll receive

  • Three free family cooking sessions
  • Ingredients and equipment provided during sessions
  • Take-home recipe boxes
  • A Family Cooking Toolkit with recipes, budgeting tips, and guidance on batch cooking and freezing food
  • The opportunity to connect with other local families
